After finishing his degree in Business Administration from Barton College, Brian decided to turn his passion for fitness into a career. He became Certified as a Personal Trainer in 2005 through the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.) and began his personal training career working at various gyms including Bally's, Fitness U.S.A. and Powerhouse.
He finally ended up at the Eastern Michigan University Rec/IM where he quickly was promoted to head personal trainer. He also began teaching various classes as a group fitness instructor including Fit-ball, BOSU Core and other fitness and conditioning activity courses.
In 2006 Brian's dream of offering"Personalized Fitness that was focused on helping people meet their goals"became a reality. The first BYBF training studio opened its doors to the public in '06 and for the next 3+ years Brian trained people of all ages, fitness levels, goals and backgrounds. He is experienced in training people from the ages of 10 years old to 82 years old.
Over the years he has trained every type of client from the totally de-conditioned person that hasn't worked out in 20-30 years to current professional athletes in various sports. Brian has designed programs for extreme weight loss, toning & sculpting, body-building & muscle gain, flexibility improvement and even post-physical therapy.
In addition to his A.C.E. certification, Brian is also a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certified through U.S.A. Weightlifting as well as a TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor. Brian has really enjoyed working with young athletes and helping them take their game to the next level. He has used his background and experience in a lifetime of sports to train athletes in the following sports: Basketball, Football, Track & Field, Golf, Tennis, Cycling and even Equestrian.
Brian also takes great pride in working along with the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. U of M has utilized the BYBF studio for their ‘MEN ON THE MOVE’ project which is specifically geared toward African American men 35 years and older and their overall health and wellness. He has also served as a fitness trainer for that same project where he trained groups of 5-10 (mostly sedentary) men into better overall physical shape and better health.
Brian's Training Philosophy:
"I'm a bottom-line guy. If you get the work done, I don't care if you whine and complain. I am constantly reminding people to throw their pride out of the window when they come in to train. We work ugly in here, so that they can look good outside of here. I am a very patient person by nature, but as a trainer I am very demanding. The only thing that I absolutely don't have tolerance for is quitting. As a client of mine, if you give me full effort then I will give you the same."
Brian has completed continuing Education Courses in the following:
- essentials of screening and assessment course

Brian has an unmatched passion for lifelong fitness and he lives his life by the motto: "Fitness is a journey, not a destination..."
